Why is my Check Engine Light On?
It’s not uncommon for the check engine light to turn on when you’re driving, but figuring out the source can sometimes be a challenge on your own. Sometimes, the problem can be as simple as replacing or securing a loose gas cap. Other times, it can serve as a warning of more serious problems with your vehicle. These can be engine issues, emission problems, a bad spark plug, or something else entirely. Your best option when your check engine light turns on is to see a service professional to help diagnose the issue quickly and clearly.

Can I Drive with the Check Engine Light On?
If your check engine light turns on, it’s best to get it serviced as quickly as possible. However, you’re likely safe to drive as long as your car or truck is performing normally. If your vehicle starts to perform strangely after the check engine light turns on, get to a service center as soon as possible. This is especially true if your check engine light is flashing. In this case, it’s best not to drive your vehicle, as doing so could be unsafe and result in more serious damage to your vehicle.

Does Changing Your Own Oil Void Your Warranty?
As long as you document the date you changed your oil, the odometer readout, and receipts for the purchase of the oil, you won’t void your vehicle’s warranty. However, you do need to be careful not to damage your vehicle in the process, or this could possibly void your warranty. For this reason, we recommend getting your oil changed at a certified service center that knows your vehicle, but changing your own oil won't void your warranty.

Does Missing an Oil Change Void my Warranty?
Oil is critically important to your vehicles engine. If you miss an oil change interval, check the oil level to ensure the vehicle is still has enough to operate and visit our service center for an oil change service right away. What you’ll need to do to maintain your warranty depends on your specific vehicle, your lease terms, and the warranty itself. Often if basic routine service is skipped, parts of the warranty might be void from the lack of maintenance. For example, if you don’t have regular oil changes and your vehicle suffers a breaks down as a result, your engine repairs may not be covered under warranty.

How Long Can You Go Without Getting an Oil Change?
How long you can drive without an oil change depends on your vehicle, your driving, and what type of oil your vehicle needs. Depending on the type of oil and age of your vehicle, you may be able to drive over 7,000 miles without needing an oil change. However, oil can degrade over time, so getting two or more oil changes a year is still recommended. Your owner’s manual or mechanic can likely inform you of how often you’ll need your oil change. When in doubt, call a certified service center for more information.

How Long Does a Car Diagnostic Take?
Diagnostic tests can greatly range in time to research and test. Our service technicians use the latest technology available and work on vehicles every day, allowing them to often spot the root cause quickly. Diagnostic tests are run through a computer scanner that can detect many of the common issues your vehicle might have. As such, diagnostic tests are often finished quickly, and your service professional can then go over the results of the report with you to decide on next steps.

Is Tire Rotation Necessary?
Rotating your tires is extremely important, not just for the longevity of your tires, but for the overall safety of your vehicle. Front tires are under a good deal more pressure than your rear tires, as the edges often take the most weight when making turns. For this reason, your front tires will often wear out much more quickly than your rear tires. Without regular tire rotation, your front tires will wear out much more frequently, forcing you to buy new tires sooner and making your vehicle less safe to drive.

How Often Should I Rotate My Tires?
Regular tire rotation is an essential part of your vehicle’s routine maintenance. Ideally, you should rotate your tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles, or every six months. Check your vehicle’s manual for more detail on how often you should be rotating your tires, or speak with your local automotive service professional.
